Nasarawa Assembly Urges Funding for Mararaba Flyover Completion

By Atlantic Reports
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has urged the state government to release funds for the completion of the Mararaba Twin Flyover, while expressing satisfaction with infrastructure projects undertaken by Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration.
Chairman of the House Committee on the Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB), Alhaji Musa Gude, made the call on Wednesday during an inspection of road and flyover projects across the state.
The committee visited the Abdullahi Adamu Estate/Tomatoes Road in Lafia, Police Station/Angwan Kpandam Road in Akwanga, and the Mararaba Twin Flyover, Chikas Road and six-kilometre Ado Kasa-Kari Road in Karu. It also inspected the Keffi Flyover.
Gude said the exercise was intended to assess construction quality and ensure contractors complied with project specifications.
“We are here to inspect and assess the projects with a view to ensuring that quality work is done and to correct any abnormality, if discovered,” he said.
Funding and Completion Remain Priorities
Gude commended the administration’s investment in roads and flyovers, saying the projects could improve transport and support economic activity.
However, he called for funds to complete the Mararaba Twin Flyover and urged the contractor to adhere strictly to its specifications.
He also sought the completion of the Ado Kasa-Kari Road, saying it would support socio-economic activities and improve living conditions in the area.
The committee’s assessment of construction quality was favourable, but the account did not provide technical inspection findings, project costs, completion deadlines or details of outstanding funding. Its request for further releases highlights the need to distinguish ongoing construction from completed infrastructure.
For residents and businesses, the benefits anticipated by the lawmakers will depend on the roads and flyovers being completed and opened for use.
Contractors Promise Quality Delivery
Project representatives assured the committee of their commitment to quality work.
They included Elia Bechara, Project Manager of Triacta Nigeria Ltd, which is handling the Mararaba Twin Flyover; LiJiang Kan of DE Pacific Investment Ltd, responsible for the Ado Kasa-Kari Road; and Mario Khoory, who is handling the Keffi Flyover.
NUDB Director of Engineering, Ibrahim Omoye, led the committee around the sites.
Gude said lawmakers would continue inspecting projects across the state. Further oversight will need to track whether funding is released, specifications are met and the outstanding works are completed.
