North-Central Leaders Rally in Lafia for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid

By Atlantic Reports
Political leaders and All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters from the North-Central region gathered in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
The rally, organised under the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, brought together governors, ministers, legislators, party officials and grassroots supporters.
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule hosted the gathering alongside other governors from the region, with First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu as special guest of honour.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma represented APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
Sule credited the Tinubu administration with supporting infrastructure development in Nasarawa, presenting those interventions as a reason to back the president for another term.
Speaking on behalf of the APC chairman, Uzodimma argued that a second Tinubu administration would move Nigeria from reforms towards greater prosperity.
He cited food security initiatives, economic stabilisation efforts and education funding among the administration’s programmes. He also claimed that Tinubu had fulfilled most of his previous campaign promises and said continuity was necessary to consolidate progress.
Those remarks were political assessments. The account of the rally did not provide project details or performance figures against which the claims could be measured.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, also urged voters in the North-Central region to support Tinubu.
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang pledged to mobilise electoral support for the president in their states.
Alia praised the administration’s infrastructure record and acknowledged the First Lady’s support for Benue.
“Our First Lady has cared for us immensely in Benue, it is time for us to appreciate you by making sure that Mr President is returned to office,” he said.
Mutfwang expressed confidence that Tinubu would win the presidential election, attributing his optimism to the president’s performance.
The gathering demonstrated support for Tinubu among the political leaders present. Their pledges to deliver votes, however, remain campaign commitments, with the electoral outcome ultimately resting with voters.
