The Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation has disowned documents circulating online concerning a 100,000-hectare Multi-Crop Project, describing them as unauthorised and misleading.

In a public disclaimer issued by the Office of the Permanent Secretary on Wednesday, the ministry said the materials attributed to CARECOM COMFAS and the RBDA National Agricultural Intervention Programme did not originate from it.

The disputed documents include a contractor registration form for input suppliers, an implementation and field operations infographic, and a map showing purported alignment between river basin development authorities and the multi-crop project.

The ministry urged members of the public, stakeholders and partners to disregard the materials and avoid using them for official purposes.

For suppliers and prospective contractors, the warning means the circulating registration form should not be treated as evidence of a ministry-approved procurement or participation process.

The ministry said official information about its programmes and activities is released through established communication channels and duly signed documents. It advised anyone seeking clarification to use its official communication platforms.

It also warned that circulating false documents violated Nigerian law and said appropriate legal action would be taken against anyone found culpable. The disclaimer did not identify those responsible or announce that proceedings had begun.

The statement addressed the authenticity of the circulating materials but did not clarify the status of the underlying 100,000-hectare project or provide an authorised registration process.
