Deputy Governors Forum Celebrates Akomas' 66th Birthday

The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria (FFDGN) has celebrated its National Chairman, Dr Chris Akomas, on his 66th birthday, commending his contributions to public service and governance.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the forum's Director-General, Dr Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, said Akomas had brought decades of experience in public administration to bear on his leadership of the body.
He said the forum's national conferences, held under Akomas' leadership, had provided a platform for former deputy governors and other stakeholders to deliberate on governance and national development, adding that Akomas had consistently championed policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians, including access to food and other basic necessities.
"Dr Chris is a bold and courageous leader who pursues every cause he believes in with dedication and love for humanity," Ibe-Kalu said.
Akomas, a former Deputy Governor of Abia State, also served as the state's Federal Commissioner on the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), where he chaired the commission's Indices and Disbursement Committee. He previously served as Abia State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, and held administrative roles at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).
He holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, and a master's degree in Personnel Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He currently serves as National Chairman of the FFDGN and National Secretary of the South-East Stakeholders Forum.
The FFDGN is a non-partisan body comprising former deputy governors from across Nigeria's 36 states, serving as a platform for members to share governance experience, promote national development, and offer policy recommendations on issues affecting the country's democratic governance and socio-economic development.
