Pro-Tinubu Group Suspends Activities Over NAF Plane Crash

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027, a support group for President Bola Tinubu, has suspended its activities indefinitely following the crash of a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The group's National Coordinator, Mr Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Kaduna on Wednesday.
According to Asuku, the movement's Grand Patron, Mr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, ordered the suspension as a mark of solidarity with the Federal Government, the Nigerian Air Force, the families of the deceased and Nigerians mourning the tragedy.
He said the decision affected programmes that had been scheduled to hold in Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos states.
Asuku explained that it would be inappropriate for the movement to carry on with political activities while the country was in mourning.
He noted that the decision was taken in spite of extensive preparations, adding that dates had already been fixed and supporters in the affected states were expecting the movement's arrival.
The coordinator said the group regarded standing with the nation during the period of mourning as more important than going ahead with its planned activities.
Asuku conveyed Tompolo's condolences to President Tinubu, the Nigerian Air Force, the families of the deceased personnel and Nigerians across the country.
He said the sacrifice made by members of the Armed Forces in the service of the nation deserved national recognition, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the risks military personnel face in defending the country.
Asuku apologised to members, supporters and stakeholders who had prepared for the suspended programmes, assuring them that the movement had not abandoned its planned engagements.
He said a new timetable would be drawn up after a review of the situation, and that members and supporters would be notified through appropriate channels.
The coordinator urged members to remain calm and patient, and called on Nigerians to keep praying for the families of the deceased personnel, the Armed Forces and the country.
The movement reaffirmed its commitment to its objectives and to nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
