Attacks on APC Members: Kaduna Chapter Demands Justice

The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned alleged attacks on its members, as well as the destruction of party offices and those belonging to its support groups across the state.

In Kaduna on Wednesday, the party's Public Relations Officer, Sani Dan-Azare, alleged that vehicles were vandalised during attacks carried out within its premises. He further alleged that thugs assaulted and intimidated APC members and supporters in other parts of the state.

Dan-Azare called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to promptly and impartially investigate the reported incidents. He said the investigation should establish the circumstances surrounding the attacks and ensure that anyone found responsible is dealt with according to the law, based on credible evidence.

The APC spokesman acknowledged that various claims and allegations had emerged in connection with the incidents, urging security agencies to independently examine every credible lead and relevant piece of evidence.

According to him, Kaduna State has made significant progress in moving beyond the political, ethnic, and religious tensions that previously undermined its stability. "These hard-earned gains must not be endangered by violence, intimidation, vandalism or any other unlawful conduct," he said.

Dan-Azare reiterated the Kaduna APC's commitment to peaceful, lawful, and issue-based political engagement, calling on all political parties, candidates, and supporters to conduct their activities responsibly and within the bounds of the law. He also urged APC members and support groups across the state to remain calm, exercise restraint, and refrain from retaliation or resorting to self-help measures.

The spokesman advised anyone with relevant information or evidence concerning the incidents to make such materials available to the appropriate security agencies. "No political contest is greater than the peace and security of Kaduna State. Let the facts be established. Let due process prevail. Let the law take its course," Dan-Azare said.
