Barcelona recovered from an early setback in Istanbul and Arsenal overcame Lille’s resistance in London, while Manchester United suffered defeat against Atlético Madrid on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich drew 3–3 with Viking Stavanger, and Nicolò Tresoldi’s hat-trick helped Club Brugge beat Inter Milan 4–3 at the San Siro.

Yamal Inspires Barcelona’s Recovery

Alexey Batrokov put Galatasaray ahead in the 28th minute, but João Cancelo restored parity before half-time.

Barcelona took control shortly after the interval. Lamine Yamal set up Fermín López in the 50th minute, then supplied Anthony Gordon for another goal three minutes later.

Karim Adeyemi completed the scoring to secure a 4–1 away victory.

Arsenal Find Their Breakthrough

Lille held Arsenal scoreless until the 64th minute, when Jurriën Timber opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium.

Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka added further goals, giving Arsenal a 3–0 win after a patient search for the breakthrough.

Lookman Ends United’s Hopes

Pablo Barrios gave Atlético Madrid the lead after just 50 seconds, leaving Manchester United chasing the match almost from kick-off.

United’s efforts suffered another setback when Leny Yoro was sent off in the 74th minute.

Five minutes later, Nigerian international Ademola Lookman scored Atlético’s second to put the contest beyond Michael Carrick’s side.

United defender Lisandro Martínez subsequently criticised the club’s squad investment. He acknowledged that players needed to improve but argued that recruitment and decisions by the hierarchy also deserved scrutiny.

Martínez questioned repeated managerial changes, saying responsibility for United’s difficulties should extend beyond the coach and players.

Tresoldi Treble Stuns Inter

Tresoldi scored three times as Club Brugge secured a 4–3 victory over Inter Milan in Italy.

Bayern Munich also dropped points, drawing 3–3 with Viking Stavanger in Norway after Michael Olise received a second yellow card.

The league-phase action continues on Wednesday, with Manchester City scheduled to host Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium.
