Four Nigerian Volleyball Coaches Earn FIVB Level II Certificates

By Atlantic Reports
Four Nigerian volleyball coaches have earned Level II coaching certificates from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) after passing examinations in The Gambia on Sunday.
The coaches are Elishama Elam, head coach of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team; Taiwo Oladipupo, head coach of the men’s national team; Ayokunnu Aboderin; and Dauda Saje.
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) announced their qualification in a statement signed by its Vice-President, Tunde Omisore, and published on the federation’s official website.
Saje, who also serves as the players’ representative on the NVBF board, emerged as the overall outstanding candidate after recording the highest examination score, according to the statement.
Omisore congratulated the four coaches, saying their qualifications would expand Nigeria’s pool of FIVB Level II-certified personnel and strengthen the national teams’ technical support.
“This is a plus for Nigeria’s technical crew, as four coaches, including the head coach of the women’s national team, Elam, and the head coach of the men’s team, Oladipupo, are now FIVB Level II certified coaches,” he said.
He said developing competent coaches was part of the current board’s mandate to improve support for players.
According to Omisore, the newly certified coaches will work with the federation’s Technical Adviser, Ryan Masajedi, to support preparations for the 2027 African Games in Egypt.
The qualifications add to the technical expertise available to the federation. Their practical impact will depend on how the coaches apply their training to player development, team preparation and competitive performance.
