FRSC Akwa Ibom Boss Charges Officers on Integrity, Service

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwa Ibom has charged its personnel to treat professionalism as a personal commitment and to hold on to integrity in the way they serve the public.
The Sector Commander, Mrs Felicia Kalu, gave the charge in her remarks at the 2026 Customer Service Week celebration in Uyo on Monday.
Kalu said this year's theme, "The Extra Mile," was a reminder that excellent customer service goes beyond simply doing what is required of an officer.
The theme, she said, calls on officers and marshals to do a little more, to care a little deeper, and to make a deliberate effort to create a positive experience for everyone they deal with.
'The extra mile must never mean compromising rules'
"As we celebrate Customer Service Week, I urge every FRSC officer and staff member to make professionalism a personal commitment.
"Above all, let us uphold integrity.
''The extra mile must never mean compromising established rules or procedures, rather it means finding lawful, ethical and professional ways to provide better service," Kalu said.
She asked personnel to turn complaints into opportunities for improvement, challenges into opportunities for innovation, and ordinary service into extraordinary and exceptional service.
Kalu urged the personnel to treat every interaction with the public as a chance to build confidence in the Corps.
"Let us remember that behind every request is a human being who deserves to be treated with dignity.
"Let us be conscious of our language, appearance, attitude, conduct and response time," she said.
She warned against unnecessary delays, discourtesy, indifference, rude behaviour, incivility to the motoring public, and any act capable of undermining public confidence in the Corps.
The sector commander also appealed to customers to keep working with the FRSC. "Road safety is a shared responsibility," she said.
She added that the cooperation of road users remains vital to achieving safer roads and reducing road traffic crashes.
