The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has paid tribute to its former Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, following his death, describing his service as an enduring contribution to road safety administration and the institution’s development.

In a condolence message issued on Sunday in Abuja, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed said Biu’s death was a significant loss to his family, colleagues and the nation.

Mohammed described the former FRSC chief as a dedicated and disciplined officer who devoted a substantial part of his life to public service and the safety of Nigerians.

He said Biu joined the corps during its formative years and rose through the ranks to become its seventh substantive Corps Marshal.

According to the condolence message, Biu headed the organisation from July 2022 to May 2024. Mohammed credited him with advancing road safety administration, operational effectiveness and institutional growth.

“As a former head of this great Corps, he occupied a place of honour in our institutional history,” Mohammed said.

He added that Biu’s contributions remained part of the foundation on which the FRSC continued to build.

“Biu’s passing is not merely the loss of a former leader but also that of a colleague, a seasoned professional and a compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of humanity and the safety of Nigerians,” he said.

On behalf of the corps’ management and workforce, Mohammed extended condolences to Biu’s immediate family, friends and associates.

He prayed that God would give the bereaved strength to bear the loss, forgive Biu’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannah.

“Rest in peace, Dauda Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” Mohammed said.

The condolence message did not state the date or cause of Biu’s death or provide details of funeral arrangements.
