Organisers of The Headies Awards have announced that the 18th edition will now take place on April 10 and 11, 2027, in Toronto, Canada.

The event was previously scheduled for October 23, 2026.

In a statement shared on the awards’ official Instagram account, @the_headies, organisers said the revised schedule would create more opportunities for engagement within the music and creative industries.

They did not provide a detailed explanation of the circumstances behind the postponement.

‘Road to the Headies’ Activities to Continue

Organisers said activities under the “Road to the Headies” initiative would continue during the period originally reserved for the ceremony.

The programme is expected to include workshops, seminars and industry engagements ahead of the rescheduled event.

The announcement did not specify the venues, dates or participation arrangements for those activities.

The organisers apologised to guests who had already booked travel or made other arrangements, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the change.
