Igbokoda Crash: Navy, NSIB Divers Recover NAF Aircraft Parts

Specialist divers from the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) have recovered aircraft components from the site where a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR 42-500 crashed at Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The NAF's Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to Ejodame, the divers are sustaining underwater search and recovery operations in support of the ongoing investigation into the crash.
"The divers are working assiduously to locate and retrieve relevant materials for documentation and preservation.
"The multi-agency teams are working tirelessly day and night to maintain sustained efforts, supported by hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and pumping out of excess water to facilitate access to relevant areas," he said.
The aircraft, registered NAF 931, crashed at Igbokoda on Oct. 5 with 25 people on board, five crew members and 20 passengers.
In a statement on Oct. 6, the NAF said the personnel and passengers on board lost their lives, and released their names.
