Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Mr Akinwale Akinwole as his new Chief of Staff following the resignation of Mr Segun Ogunwuyi.

Ogunwuyi announced his departure in a letter dated 12 October and made available to journalists on Monday in Ibadan.

He thanked Makinde for the opportunity to serve, describing his time in the administration as fulfilling and an honour.

Ogunwuyi said he remained proud of the administration’s collective efforts towards the state’s growth, development and prosperity. He also expressed his esteem for the governor and reaffirmed his loyalty to Oyo State and Nigeria.

The account of his resignation letter did not state a reason for his departure.

Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.

His appointment was announced in a letter signed on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde.

In a separate appointment, Makinde named Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Due Process Office.

Adedayo will combine the position with her existing responsibilities as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies.

Both appointments take immediate effect.

The governor congratulated the appointees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the people of Oyo State.
